  • Dāō(Day-o) is a simplified variation of the designer’s full name. These letters are the three most frequent phonetic sounds amongst his three names (DaShar David Holloway). With the idea of three letters to encompass his full name, fundamental ideals were derived from his life philosophy to form the brand values (self-evolution, creative expression, and community empowerment).

    Lure — is the word used to represent the brand's aura and the idea of spiritual manifestation. We believe in the attraction of like energies, i.e., the law of attraction. Our goal is to reach and attract people who resonate with our brand values.

The artist Behind the Brand

Meet Dayton, Ohio native DaShar Holloway. A remarkable visual arts talent, regional and national Scholastics award-winning graduate of Stivers School for the Arts. He spent time crafting his skills and networking at Columbus College of Art & Design before deciding to enlist as an Active-Duty member of the U.S. Air Force. Shortly after joining as an aircraft mechanic, he reengaged with his passion for visual arts and devoted his time, energy, and limited resources to embark on building a brand based on self-evolution, creative expression, and community empowerment.

He’s learned so much throughout his journey as a Black American business owner, and he generously shares all of his experiences with many other entrepreneurs and artists.

“I made so many costly mistakes in this business that I questioned my own path. Every wrong turn exposed more weaknesses in my strategy, but it led me to a more sound and comprehensive way of creating something meaningful and timeless. I didn’t seek the right mentors within the fashion industry, so I had to rely on more independent ways of teaching myself the game and restructure my business strategy around other proven methods. Starting over hurts, especially after a decade, but with the proper education, fortitude, and infrastructure in place, you have to bet on yourself and move with confidence every step of the way.”
